<description><![CDATA[Amateurs to partner with professionals in Pro-Am format<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/><br/>LONG GROVE, IL - The Royal Country Clubs and Dogwood Sports are proud to announce a 3 year partnership with the Canadian PGA Tour.  Beginning in 2012, Dogwood Sports will be marketing, promoting and producing a Canadian Tour event at the Royal Country Club of Long Grove in Long Grove, IL.  The event will bring the top 120 players on the Canadian Tour to Chicago to compete September 10th - 16th of 2012.<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>ABOUT THE EVENT<br/> <br/><br/>The event will be unique in that it will be a Pro-Am.  Amateurs will have the chance to partner with a Canadian Tour professional and experience a week inside the ropes, rubbing elbows with Canadian Tour players and attending exclusive events.  Each Canadian Tour professional will partner with an amateur contestant for three days of play, at which point the field will be cut to the low 60 professionals and 20 teams for play on Sunday. Saturday, April 2nd.  --  Silver Lake Country Club hosted its first-ever Golf Opening Day this past Saturday. Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin, Chamber of Commerce President Amy Coghill, and the Chick-fil-A Cow attended the Opening Day Ribbon Cutting and First Drive.  <br/>  Silver Lake Director of Golf Bert Coghill led opening ceremonies and presented Mayor McLaughlin with the “Tee to the City.”  Mayor McLaughlin administered the official ribbon cutting, followed by “First Drives” by the Chick-fil-A  Cow, Chamber President Coghill, Mayor McLaughlin and Captain Bert Coghill.  After the ceremony, Chick-fil-A handed out 100 free Chicken Biscuit breakfast sandwiches to fans and golfers in attendance.<br/>  This was the first ever official Golf Opening Day at Silver Lake Country Club.  The goal of the event is to grow awareness for the game of golf and local businesses in the community.  <br/>  “What an awesome day.
